Privacy

VegasTalk is an AI-powered travel inspiration site. We aren't a travel agency — when you book, you leave our site and transact directly with the provider. This page explains what we store about your visit, why, and for how long.

Your privacy choices

We haven't recorded a preference yet.

What we store

Necessary — always on

Required for the site to function. No consent needed under EU ePrivacy rules.

  • Session cookie (TravelTech.Session) — identifies your browser session so the chat remembers the current conversation. Expires after 1 year.
  • Chat history (traveltech_chat in localStorage) — your current conversation, so it survives page reloads. Cleared when you start a new chat.
  • Language preference (traveltech_lang in localStorage) — remembers the language you use in the chat.
  • Visitor ID (traveltech_visitor_id in localStorage) — identifies your browser so you can return to your chat across sessions. Not linked to any account or personal data.
  • Consent choice (traveltech_consent in localStorage) — records your cookie preferences so we don't ask again.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — anti-bot verification, exempt under ePrivacy security provisions.

Optional — depends on your default

Used for analytics and marketing. Default depends on where you visit from: EU/UK and most of the world — off until you accept in the banner. US — on, opt out any time using “Your privacy choices” above. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal (Brave, Firefox in some configurations) — off automatically.

  • Google Ads (_gcl_au, _gcl_aw, etc.) — so we can see which ads bring visitors to the site. Managed via Google Consent Mode.
  • Referral tracking — which page sent you here (referer, landing URL query parameters).
  • Campaign attribution — Google Ads click identifiers (wbraid, gad_campaignid).

Server-side logs

  • Chat messages — stored to provide the service. Retained while you use the site, see retention below.
  • Session logs — for visitors who accept analytics: hashed IP, visitor ID, user agent, country. For visitors who decline: only a session ID, user agent, and landing page path — no IP, no referral source, no persistent cross-session identifier.
  • Chat analysis log — conversation snapshots used to improve AI quality.
  • Consent record — each session row records whether you consented to optional cookies.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data to anyone.
  • We don't have user accounts, so we can't link your activity to a name or email unless you volunteer it.
  • We don't share session-level data with third parties (aside from Google Ads tracking when you've consented).

Retention

Conversations and logs are deleted after 180 days. You can request earlier deletion at any time — contact us via the details below.

We re-ask for cookie consent after 12 months regardless of your previous answer, or sooner if we add new data categories.

Backups

Production data is backed up for disaster recovery. Backup snapshots retain data until they age out on a rolling schedule (typically within 30 days for daily backups, up to 12 months for long-term archives). If we ever restore from a backup, any active deletion requests are re-applied immediately.

Your rights

Under GDPR (EU) and similar laws, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold about you. Because we don't tie data to accounts, you'll need to share your session ID or visitor ID for us to locate your records.
